Who knew frankincense was a healing agent and drives demonic spirits out of your living space? The three wise men surely did! These wise men were not only master astronomers but gifted this sacred extract for the birth of the Son of God. We must pay special attention to this sacred tree because it was a gift for God – in human form!
I was originally looking to explore the use of frankincense for cleansing my home of demonic spirits. Instead I stumbled quite serendipitously into the scientific discovery frankincense kills cancer cells! I thought it was only fitting because of “National Breast Cancer” month to discuss frankincense as a possible cure or therapy for cancer. How could we go wrong with a Divinely inspired gift for the birth of Jesus Christ?
Frankincense is extracted from the Boswellia sacra tree of the order Sapindales. Which means if you cut it deeply, it will bleed a fragrant sap. It has been a pharmacological agent as an anti-inflammatory, revered since ancient times. Now the medical community has discovered it is a cancer killer even in extreme cases! Such as Stage IV cancers of the colon and the breast! I was aware of black seed oil and the ever popular curcumin (of Turmeric) for killing cancer cells but never frankincense.

And God said, Behold I have given you every herb bearing seed, which is upon the face of all the earth, and every tree, in the which is the fruit of a tree yielding seed; to you it shall be for meat.
The Boswellia sacra extract halts the cancer cell division and reactivates cancer suppressing cells. This means it changes how cancer cells and tumor suppressing genes express themselves. The commonly understood catalyst to cancer cell metastasis is inflammation and Boswellia sacra extract has been used as an anti-inflammatory since Biblical times. The RANKL is a tumor suppressing protein which is “switched” on by the Boswella sacra extract and it causes the cancer cells to commit suicide otherwise known as apoptosis. This is also the case with curcumin but this should all be reviewed with the oncologist if you are taking drugs like Tamoxifen.
RANKL is a member of the tumor necrosis factor (TNF) cytokine family which is a ligand for osteoprotegerin and functions as a key factor for osteoclast differentiation and activation. RANKL also has a function in the immune system, where it is expressed by T helper cells and is thought to be involved in dendritic cell maturation. This protein was shown to be a dendritic cell survival factor and is involved in the regulation of T cell-dependent immune response. T cell activation was reported to induce expression of this gene and lead to an increase of osteoclastogenesis and bone loss. This protein was shown to activate antiapoptotic kinase AKT/PKB through a signaling complex involving SRC kinase and tumor necrosis factor receptor-associated factor 6 (TRAF6), which indicated this protein may have a role in the regulation of cell apoptosis.[3]
The medical community is in the early stages of analysis with Boswellia sacra extract and most doctors agree it is excellent for cancer prevention. While some doctors have seen it reverse Stage IV cancer not all agree the popular protocols should be abandoned. In the future it might replace chemotherapy and radiation or be used to enhance the effects of them. From a spiritual perspective it should be explored because the three wise men knew it was important enough to give to Jesus.
